  • please refer to #17.1 And if you have ever tried raising enough food to supply an entire family as we did when I was young, you would maybe realize how much time that takes. Couple of tomato plants and a row of snap beans a garden does not make.

  • On the face of it...Great thing. Reaching out to the common man, empathy to the small home owner, the organic fruit and bark munchers. Truthfully....Barnum/Bailey publicity stunt. I may be a bit cynical but until I see Michelle on her knees pulling weeds and pinching potato bugs I am not buying it.

  • I think that there will be a return to a new form of tribalism. Small communities will band together with different members provide a variety of skill sets with the bonus of mutual protection. The military role in this will be interesting. I have a problem with the idea of people firing on their own.

  • While in a perfect world there would be no need for chemicals, GM foods, etc, reality spells out otherwise. Without chemicals crop yields would diminish hugely both in quantity and quality. No chemicals means more intensive cultivation resulting in moisture loss and greatly increased erosion.
